Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)

As John came in leaning in, James removed his hand for a second. John's head now on his shoulder and his hand searched for his hair, tugging into it and softly stroking through it.
"I'll be here for you, always. No matter what." He whispered with his heart torn apart.

The whispered words made John's heart beat faster, he couldn't help himself from looking up, trying to see on the other's face if he really meant it.
"I don't know what I did to deserve your friendship," he whispered back, blue eyes were filled with gratitude, with affection he could not control or hide.



((Jim could be convinced to abandon the bet today, but then maybe Seb can convince him not to, saying that dating John Watson for real would be social suicide, so then Jim will hesitate a bit more before giving in completely? *plots drama* ))

James thought the same, John didn't deserve someone like him around. He was out to hurt this guy at the point where his life is already messed up enough. He just couldn't do this. Not with the feelings he'd managed to create for John.

"Me neither." He said half joking, half serious.

((Yes, that seems like a good idea! I'll write it in the next reply?? ))

He laughed softly at the words, his head moving even closer, he was unconsciously pressing his forehead to the other's jaw. He just wanted to be close.

"I feel better," he said, and he didn't realize his hand was patting Jim's knee. "I am sorry if I bored you with my babbling... I have never said this to anyone..."




((It doesn't have to be now, it can be later on in the next scene as well~~))

He was surprised at John looking for contact like this, but he could not deny he wasn't liking it. He removed his own head in order to look John into his eyes. "I'm glad you feel better." He said soft. "You didn't bore me. I'm also glad you told me." His hand moved to stroke over John's cheek. What was he even doing?!

John felt himself coming undone, he had never had a moment so intimate with anyone else in his life.
He realized he had never had a real friend before, and not even with his girlfriends in the past he had ever been able to speak so openly.

Jim seemed to be really interested in what was happening in his life and for the first time he felt he was not alone in this world, he didn't have to face everything on his own.

He looked back into his eyes, his heart beating painfully in his throat, he couldn't help but lean towards the soft touch on his cheek.
"Thank you," he whispered slowly.

A polite smile formed on his lips. "No need to thank me." He whispered back. Stroking down the other's cheek before retrieving his hand to place it down on John's leg.

James wasn't sure about his feelings. He felt sorry for John but at the same time he actually felt something for this guy. He Liked him. and it was very unlike him at all. He played around with other's all the time but had never truly felt something for one of them. Even not his girlfriends in the past had made them feel something so quick.

John just couldn't take this, Jim was just so close, and so kind, and his eyes were so beautiful, he just wanted to drawn in them. He couldn't help but think about what had happened between them at the party, and at the moment all he wanted was to kiss him.

He knew it was a very bad idea, he knew he shouldn't, but he did not listen to his own conscience, he just leaned closer and pressed their lips together.
Eager and hungry for the other's taste.
But at the same time, there was this sweetness at the back of his throat, the affection he felt for him that was warming up his whole body.

He met John's lips half way, closing his eyes and letting his hand cup his face again. Both the sweetness and the eagerness were eagerly returned. He needed this as much as John did. For a moment the guilt and sorry feelings were flushed away, replaced with a warm feeling that surrounded his stomach. Slightly he deepened the kiss, this moment could last forever.


((I need to go to work until about 1am. I'm not sure whether I could answer from my phone, depends on how busy I'll be. ))

John found himself lost in the kiss, his hand moving to press against the back of Jim's head, keeping him near.
His taste was familiar, but so much better today that there was not the tinge of alcohol.
He couldn't believe just how much he wanted this, and how fast his heart was beating.

James had pulled at John's jumper, pulling him closer so he could embrace John's whole body. His fingers ran through the blonde hair, over his neck and spine to eventually end on John's lower back. his lips battling against the other's, nipping on them occasionally.

This wasn't just a kiss, a lot of feelings were involved, passion was shared and heartbeats increased. James felt something he'd never felt before and he knew he wasn't suppose to have these feelings. But fighting them off was useless, there was nothing he could anyway. So instead he decided to enjoy all of this, to later meet up with Seb and cancel the whole bet.

John couldn't help the passion that surged through his body, that told him to kiss, to hug, to press even closer, it was taking over him, possessing him.

It was only when he realized that he could not blame this on the alcohol that his thoughts ordered him to stop.

He pulled away from Jim, he stood up, paced the room. "I am so sorry... I am so sorry," he whimpered, and shook his head to rid himself of the need he felt for the other's lips.

"You are my friend. My only friend. And there I was taking advantage of your kindness. I am sorry," he pleaded miserably. Jim was not going to be angry at him, was he?

James expression changed to surprise and as soon as John let go he thought he'd done something wrong, went too far. 'Did i do..' but John already starting pacing back and forth, giving James the answer to his doubt.

"John.. No.. "He got up, trying to stop John from walking because it was only making him more nervous. "If i didn't want this, I would not let you go through with it. I'd stopped you already." h explained still with confused eyes.

John looked back at him, his eyes moving on the other's face for a moment. Did Jim mean he liked him? Was that why he was so nice to him? Why he listened to him?

He shook his head: "You are right, I just..." he whispered, and frowned. "I just... I need a friend more than I need a..." he waved his hand, not sure how he could label what they could have. "I don't want to jeopardize our friendship, relationships always end badly, and I can't really say I am gay either... this is confusing," he rambled, blushing furiously.

"I don't know what I'm feeling either." James shrugged. "But we never know if we never try." He added confident. Of course John didn't knew what he knew at this point, but he was still determined on calling the bet off, even if he got rejected heartlessly here.

James stepped closer again, eyes never leaving John. "I know it's confusing, but there's no use in fighting it off."

John's eyes were wide and scared when Jim walked closer. "No, no, I can't," he whispered, turning around, his heart was beating hard in his chest, and he knew he was going to regret this.

"You promised we were going to forget about what happened at the party, that we would just be friends," he protested, clinging to words that meant very little. He just couldn't take the huge change that would entail dating another guy, not now that his life was already a horrible mess.

"You can't what? John..." He tried but John had already turned around. Why did he always get the persistent ones? Why was he even be this way? They both were confused, they both didn't knew what to do so why do this the hard and painful way instead of just having some fun?

James rolled his eyes once John had turned around. "Yes I can forget about what happened at the party, but I won't forget what just happened on that sofa." He pointed out in a sharp voice.

"I can't be with you," he snapped, rubbing his frown tiredly, this was too hard for him, he didn't need this, not when he just fought with his mum, not when... god, he was just finding excuses. He was panicking though, and all he could say now was no.

"It was just a kiss. I was upset. I was frustrated. It didn't mean anything," he insisted, his hands balling into fists at his side. "Why are you insisting Jim? You said you just wanted to be my friend, you never said anything about anything else, you never flirted other than the night at the party! And we were both drunk."

"Don't you dare snapping at me like that after all I've done for you." He snapped back. Ungrateful bastard, james thought. Not that he minded all the things he'd done, but at this point, with John being like this, he couldn't help but say it.

"I wasn't suppose to flirt with you, I wasn't suppose to like you. But when I started to get to know you it just happened okay? I can't just turn my feelings on and off like that." Well, in fact he'd always been able to, but in this case it felt different. His own feelings were confusing him and control was slipping out of his hands.

John fell silent, his head hanging low as he took in Jim's words, they were hurting him more than he would like to admit.

All I have done for you...

"I need to go," he bailed, his voice shaking as he made his way to the door. There was nothing he could say. It had been a mistake to come here, he had dug his own grave and now he was left with broken pieces.
He needed to go and hide away.

"John, no" He whispered to himself, still hoping john would actually hear him. He felt his heart drop as he gasped, he didn't want him to leave.

"Wait!" he shouted, his body moving and throwing itself in front of John's, blocking the way to the front door. "Don't go, please." He was begging John to stay, but who was he to demanded that from someone after all?

John froze when Jim threw himself in front of him, the door out of reach unless he maneuvered him away. He couldn't bring himself to be forceful though.
"I cannot give you what you want," he protested, his hands still balled into fists by his sides.

"And I don't need you to remind me just how much I owe you, I know very well, but that won't change how I feel!" he snapped unreasonably.

James huffed. "You don't owe me anything. I didn't mind doing those things. But fine." He moved out of the way, turning his back to john and starting to walk towards the stairs. "Just leave if that /is/ what you want." His voice was a mixture of bitterness and sadness. He didn't want to force john into things. Things he didn't even knew himself. If john wanted to leave, he was free to go.

The problem was right there. It was not what he wanted, but at the time he thought it was what he needed. To clear his mind. To think. To stop the panic that was spreading in his chest.

"I can be your friend, not more," he repeated, feeling horrible. "I know I started the kiss this time, it was... a moment of weakness..." He just hoped it was true.

"I will be there if you want to be my friend, I will always be there for that..." he pointed to the phone. "You have my number now, you can text me if you decide we can do that... I have to go now, my father is probably back and he will worry..."
And when he walked out the door, he had a feeling he had ruined everything.


((Skip to next scene? Unless you want to put the text or Jim's reaction? I can start the next scene in case... Jim can be angry at John now and still want to do the bet if you want, I guess it would make sense considering how insensitive John has been... I didn't think John would turn out to be such an ass, but he just panicked ^^ he will come around in a while... he just needs to get used to having Jim close as a friend and then a little jealousy will do the trick ^^ ))

(( Yea I think skipping now would be a good idea. Jim isn't texting john because john turned his back and you know.. Jim needs some time to think out a new plan and whatsoever. So yea jealousy could work. Looking forward to it. ))
