((Should we say it's at a party? John could go to look for Jim, because Jim avoided him the whole week, and he can find him with someone, a girl or Sebastian, either are okay because I am rather sure John will be jealous plenty of times >> ))

(( Yea a party sounds great. And I'd say a girl to be honest. I'd like to keep jim and seb as just best friends on this one.))

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
It had been a very long week for John. He felt lonely, he felt guilty, he knew what he had said to Jim, what he had done was just horrible.
He felt like an arse.
He knew he had been one.
Jim hadn't texted him, he hadn't contacted him, he hadn't been around at all.
John was miserable, because if he really had to admit it, he did like Jim. He still wanted to kiss him. And if the only way to have him close was to be with him, well, then maybe he could do that.
He was looking for him at Sebastian's party, he knew that he would be around being his best friend's birthday.
He felt especially awful as he limped his way inside the crowded house, some people glared at him, but he ignored them, looking desperately for the person he wanted to talk to, his nerves jumpy and tense.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
James had felt all kinds of feelings all day long. He liked john and he didn't want to hurt him, so he met up with sebastian that same day. He explained the whole thing, his feelings, everything. Seb on his side didn't understand, dating john for real was like walking into school naked and let people put videos on youtube about it. It was "social suicide.". James knew sebastian was probably right and decided to go through with it. He'd talk to john somewhere next week and make up for his behaviour. But still... This didn't felt right and his feelings were still around.
At seb's birthday party james had already drank more than enough. It was the only way he'd been able to get john out of his mind for a few seconds, but even drunk he was still around. James stood leaning against the wall of the living room. A dark haired pretty girl leaning in just next to him. Her hand stroking james's cheek and he felt she could kiss him any second. he could need the distraction.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John froze when he saw Jim that night, stupidly enough, he had not thought about the possibility of finding him with someone.
It hurt. Undoubtedly.
The kind of hurt John had no idea how to deal with.
Was he too late?
He walked closer, swallowing his pride, and trying not to sound accusing when he spoke.
"Jim," he said, standing in front of them, his gaze turning cold as he looked at the girl. She looked at him unimpressed, her hands around Jim's neck in a possessive gesture.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
James was just about to lean in when he heard a familiar voice call his name. It wasn't? Could it? His eyes teared away from the girl's and there he spotted John's figure, only a few steps away from them. Oh no, there comes trouble.
"John.." He said surprised, his mouth curling up in what was supposed to be a smile. "I didn't know you were here." He was surprised to actually see John here, knowing he wasn't much of a party person.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John looked at the girl, he was not impressed, he knew Jim had been about to kiss her and he didn't like that one bit.
"Yes, I can see you weren't expecting me," he muttered sourly.
"I was rather sure I would find you here though," he added, the girl just pressing more against Jim's side. God, he just wanted to push her away. "I was looking for you," but maybe he had been stupid to even try.
How could he tell Jim he wanted to be with him when the other was clearly over him already?

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
He could imagine what this would look like to John. Not good. Not good at all. "I'm sorry. You better go now." He said while he broke free from the girl's arms. She glared at him "Fuck you, loser." She said arrogant. "See ya, honey." James replied, even more arrogant.
He then fixes his eyes back on John while stepping closer to him, clearly a bit out of balance due to the alcohol. "Hey.." He said "You eh.. came here to find me?" he frowned. Why couldn't John just text him? Did something happened? Perhaps his mother kicked him out again and he had no place to go.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John's first instinct was to push the girl away, to slap her for what she said to Jim, but he knew that would get him into more troubles than he would like. And he knew very well one was not supposed to ever touch a woman like that.
"I wanted to see you," he confessed, betrayal was boiling in his chest though, all he had wanted to say was lost now. "But I guess I was too late... I didn't want to interrupt you," actually he did, and it was clear in the sour tone of his voice.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John's words made him smile slightly. John came all this way just to see him and have a chat? Wow.. He was impressed. If only he'd been less proud and stubborn and just called John.
"Too late for /what?/" James asked confused. He was here, he was talking to John so what precisely was his problem now? "You didn't interrupt me. I guess you saved me from doing a real stupid thing." He shrugged lightly.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John hesitated, one part of him wanted to tell Jim everything, to explain that he had been a jerk, that he wanted him, that he liked him, that he wanted to spend more time with him and he wanted to try whatever kind of relationship Jim had in mind.
On the other hand he was still furious, he couldn't help thinking about what would have happened had he arrived later.
"You were clearly having fun, I ruined your party," he said, looking away. "I probably shouldn't have come..." he made to go away, but stopped, realizing he had forgotten something very important.
"I am sorry. I was an asshole the other day," he said, his eyes to the floor.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
He indeed gave John the impression he wasn't thinking about him. If only he knew he'd been dwelling on it the whole weekend, he'd only hook up with this girl to forget john. James felt lightheaded and leaning his hand against the wall to support him. Perhaps the last couple of beers were too much. Carefully he listened to everything John had to say.
"Fun?" He laughed "I'm sorry if I gave you that expression, but I rather wished it were you." Why was he even saying this? He should have this conversation while being sober and not while he could barely keep his balance.
"You don't need to apologies. The whole situation, I mean...I'm sorry as well." He shrugged, not sure what he meant. John was upset, James was torn apart by guilt, they both were confused.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
Jim's words made him hope. The anger he felt was strong in his chest, but he was starting to doubt his logic. Maybe it was true, maybe Jim would prefer him, he did shoo her away after all.
John finally realized Jim wasn't exactly himself, he could see the boy was not very steady on his feet, and his eyes were gleamy. "Are you alright?" he asked, reaching out his arm, wrapping it around his waist. "Let me help you," he said worriedly.
"No, I was an ass... you were just trying to make me reason, and I lashed out. I panicked, I was scared, I was stupid. And I am very sorry," he apologized again, unable to meet his eyes.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
James was just about to lose his grip on the wall as he felt John's arm wrap around him. To stay in balance completely he swung one arm around John's neck. 'Thanks.' He whispered not sure if John would here it. "I'm fine, just a bit dizzy." He admitted.
"Shush now. We both reacted in the wrong way." He was slightly mumbling and tried to talk as clear as possible. It seemed like the amount of alcohol he'd been drinking was only now starting to kick in. Timing couldn't been worse.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
"A bit?" he commented, when he realized he had to lean harder on his stick, trying to keep the both of them up. "Should we get you to sit down somewhere?" he asked, looking around, the place was packed.
"We'll talk about this when you are sober, yes? I don't think you will remember this tomorrow at all," he said, noticing how Jim seemed to be rather unfocused.
His first instinct was to bring him home, but he wasn't sure Jim would be happy about waking up in John's house, it wasn't certainly the most welcoming place.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
He now swung his other hand around John's neck. "John." He said in a deep, low voice. "I'm okay I swear." unaware of his own actions and completely intoxicated he clung on to the other. A few people passing by giving them a strange look. James's drunken eyes met John's and at the point they did he couldn't help but giggle slightly.
"I am completely sober and capable to talk and remember things. Yes. Yes I am." He didn't even knew what he was doing or saying anymore. The room, his head, everything around him was spinning and blurry.
((I hope you don't mind the fact I turned Moriarty into a completely wasted person at this moment.. ))

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
John looked at him, trying not to laugh when he drunkenly attempted to convince him of his sobriety. "You don't say," he answered amused, Jim was just adorable in that moment, and he would have kissed him right there if they hadn't become the object of people's glares and stares.
"Let's go home, yes?" he suggested, and tried to keep the both of them up as they moved towards the door. He would have asked Sebastian to take care of his friend, or lend him a bed, but the boy was not around, and considering it was his party, John was not sure he wanted to know where he was.
"I'll bring you to my place, it's very close to here," he explained, so that Jim could complain in case he didn't agree.
((I like improvising, good call <3 ))

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
James strolled along with John, making it difficult on him to stay balanced.
"But John you only just arrived." He protested but his body didn't stop from walking in the direction John was leading him.
Once outside he breath in the cold air, it hit him like a ton of bricks. "Wow." He said as everything started to spin even more. He had to close his eyes to try and make it stop. He knew he could turn sentimental any minute now. He always did when he was drunk and the happy rush moment was starting to pass. Though, he had never been /this drunk before/. He had to rely on John completely. "Yes, you lead the way captain." he giggled.

Re: Want to bet on it? (John/Moriarty)
"Yes, and it's good I arrived when I did, you would have puked all over that poor girl, if I hadn't stopped you," he joked, because he was really hoping Jim wouldn't be sick. Ironically enough, he knew how to deal with drunk people, plenty of practice with his sister.
"Good boy," he said, pulling him a bit more against his side as he dragged them both towards his house.
It was a pretty place in the corner of the street, the windows were dark because his parents were out and his sister was probably at some party. Things were going to be different in the morning, but for now they were safe.
"You really did drink a lot this time," he commented, pushing them through the entrance and towards his room.

Once inside his other hand went back to seek support on the wall, making it easier on both of them. He didn't care where he was at the moment, but most likely would once he wakes up.
He was mumbling random and silly things all of the time. Nothing he said or did even made sense.
"Not too much johnny boy, no no no." He said while he ruffled the other's hair.

"Johnny boy? Is that what you call me now?" he asked amused, his nose twitching a bit as Jim ruffled his hair. "Let's go to my room, Jim," he urged him, dragging him towards it.
It was on the first floor, luckily, it would have been hell to try and drag Jim up the stairs.
"Are you thirsty? Hungry?" he asked, helping him to sit on his bed.

"The name suits you, don't you think?" He giggled.
James fell down onto the bed, nearly pulling john with him. He laid down, watching the room start to spin. God he was /so/ dizzy.
"Eh yes a beer would do." He replied, trying to sound as sober as possible.

John stumbled, unsteady on his feet, and he had to lean on the bed not to crash on Jim. "I wouldn't say that, but it's okay, I guess," he muttered, this time he ruffled Jim's hair.
"No darling, no more beer for you, how about some water?" He asked, kneeling by the bed to take off Jim's shoes.

Jim giggles at john's comment and actions. "Water is for the fish to swim in." He replied dry. He helped john a bit by kicking off his other shoe.
"Come here." He said stretching out his arms, he just wanted to hug John.

"Water will help you sober up... and that way you might not have a killer hangover tomorrow," he pointed out, even though he knew there was no point in trying to reason with him, Jim was drunk.
He couldn't help the chuckle when Jim stretched his arms for a hug. "Aren't you adorable?" he commented, his heart beating faster in his chest. He leaned down, letting Jim's arms wrap around him for a hug, still quite determined in getting the water as soon as he was free though.
