Oh, yes, their deduction processes are also pretty different.

Well, for starters, Mycroft is better at it than him. I think he's more systematic with it, not taking the emotional aspect of it into very much consideration. Then again, he is generally emotionless.

Sherlock understands emotion better, so in a way, he can be better than Myc. But in terms of just noticing things, they come pretty close to each other, though Myc always wins.

Any reason why you think Mycroft is more systematic than Sherlock?

He's the older one. This is mostly from experience, but parents are always stricter on the older children because they were less experienced when they had them. They expect more out of the kid. It's possible that Mycroft tortmented his brother as children because the pressure their parents put on him was frustrating. He needed to feel in control, so he put himself above Sherlock, constantly putting him down.

^ Just a theory. Not entirely sure.

That's no explanation about why you think Mycroft is more systematic than Sherlock. My Mycroft is a different creature from BBC's Smile

So do I, that's why I ask about the systematic aspect. Mine is clear enough but where is the supporting evidence for it for BBC's?

Perhaps systematic isn't the right word. But certainly cynical, calculating, and detached. This ties back to his personality mostly, as he doesn't like legwork and could do the investigations by himself but just doesn't want to. He's incredibly smart, surpassing Sherlock and is far quicker than him too. I think if Myc was in the place of Sherl throughout the series, it'd be boring because he'd solve the cases with a lot more ease and without very many obstacles in the way.

Nod. I get a feeling that when Sherlock focused more on individual scale, Mycroft is more concerned about the bigger scheme. Sherlock relates more to people and understand them while Mycroft catches pattern of events easier as his default mode of operation. The Scandal in Belgravia illustrate this.

Wink Silly Sherlock, you make a lot of fans think that you are afraid of getting hurt. No wonder Jim prefers you to toy with, you are more entertaining than Mycroft 'the cold fish'.

I think he is at least a barracuda Wink

A song stuck in my head at the moment. I will use it as one of the clues to my Mycroft' s way of thinking.

    Oh yes, definitely.

Just rediscovered a band I think Sherlock would like, or at least part of an album.

The album is called The 2nd Law by Muse. (Referring to thermodynamics.) What's the song called?

Have fun translating it, lol. That's another part of our paradoxical Holmes the elder. After all, there is an agreement between SHERLOCK fans that Mycroft is one of the most complicated characters.

Was slightly annoyed at having to translate it because of my limited Italian, but I'm fairly sure I got most of it.

It is the spirit of the song. Very Happy

I think Sherlock should be the one who save him from certain death in her hand, that also can be the final revelation about what kind of person she is (pre-redemption).
