Mine were world class bad for taking everything that each of them said to each other the wrong way. They helped each other but they hardly got on at times.

Oh, I see. That happens, but only with things I say. It's probably due to the fact that my humor consists of sarcasm, being a dick, and being extremely dark. I find it amusing, but good old Mum and Dad don't see it that way.

I am in a little conundrum. The case of the missing person was originally intended to bring Katrina and Sherlock closer as partners in an investigation and to cement her impression of Mycroft the boogeyman. However, they were not close enough yet for that plus Katrina is supposed to be busy for some time, and now I am stumped on what to do. Neutral

Ah, okay possibles off top of head may be trash
1> Sherlock takes Katrina with him they grow closer - she was only saying she was so busy so he wouldn't feel bad - he convinces her to go as his 'companion'

will think of 2 in a bit
2> Sherlock gets to visit her before he leaves and Katrina says sod you going on your own

erm maybe a 3 will sprout

Nod, it is possible but expect some fuss from Mycroft because of the confidential nature of the case. Laughing Who knows, he might decide to kidnap Katrina earlier before letting her to accompany Sherlock in a mission on behalf of Queen and country.

Wink Already in the plan. It is too bad that we don't have view of the outside world beside in the three characters' immediate vicinity, it makes it hard to build the series of coincidences that would strengthen Katrina's believe that Mycroft is the one behind her parents' death. Nine years ago Mycroft is 27 years old, not quite as influential as now but already elbow deep in the murky world of the secret service.

Have an MI5 man oe ex-MI5 man who has grudge against Mycroft tell Katrina what a bad sort he is - murky world he was in. How he meet her - he's following Mycroft around? I could play him.

Terrific idea for the (ex?) coworker with grudge. Maybe someone who lost his 'supposed future' because of Mycroft, get sidelined by the genius rising star or something else that make him have reason for a deep-seated hatred. Maybe he is her contact in the MI5, been introduced to her by the main villain's design.

Alright. I'm okay with everything except for the part about her job. Perhaps she could still do some work while out of London.

Also, I got bored a while ago and wrote this:

the field of grass, the field of snow
    carrying my burdens and sorrows
and melting them to the ground
    melting me to the ground
I don't know how to speak
my mind is flat but my heart beats anyway
pain is roasting me from the inside
I am the wild animal raised in the city
a fallen tree, a fallen forest
    a fallen soul
    ignite myself on fire
feel the emotion melt away but continue to feel the pain for another reason
    the hunter left Snow White
and took a bear's heart instead
    took my heart instead
the heart that once felt, that once bled, that once hammered
    these strange colours I perceive
    is this what living is?
the man that is the government
    the man that is innocent
once separate but now the same
my toes curl in the mud
    divided between family and love
    forgive me, please
    I'm still a girl
still afraid of the world and its evils
    did he tell the truth?
    flashbacks and memories
    haunting
    taunting
    daunting
    free me of my shackles
    my sole purpose
    a lie
the field of grass is dead
the field of snow is no longer
    my mind controlled
    by a fearsome force
death is the only way out
death is the only permanent escape
    my wrists are bruised
the colours I see are on my skin
all sorts of blue, purple and green
    an empty scream
    the yell of silence
    the pull of nothing
afraid of what I've done, what I'll do
    every wall of protection
    obliterated, crushed
    choking on my own thoughts
coughing back up the fears I swallowed down
    all these trees surrounding me
    tall and dangerous
    angry and judgemental
striking me down when I try to speak
    the night is cold
my soul is suffocating in the heat
I have no where to go
    nothing but fear to feel
    the man that I love
the one I cared about most
the one I was forced to deceive
    a twisted mind I have
    a twisted soul I possess
the brothers that I don't want to hurt anymore
the brothers that I want to befriend
    one a man of ice
    of no emotion
    the other a wild soul
    of something else
    forgive me.

That's a great idea! Poem(?) is the way to convey a character's thoughts and feelings. That one make me think about what will come after the final confrontation. Katrina in a secret service's prison, waiting for her fate to be decided. Left alone with only her thoughts in a place where night and day is the same.

Here's my attempt on Mycroft. Not sure I managed to catch his whole essence but I tried to.

    -----------------------------------
    Inexpressible thoughts,
chasing each other in an eternal race against time.
    Slipping away from my fingers,
    shattering against the floor.
Glittery shards of carefree laughter long gone,
telling tales about the road not taken.

    Spinning gossamer threads of stardust,
weaving tapestries of happiness and sorrow,
    shaping destinies of mankind.

    Born of fire,
    tempered by ice.
    Light and shadows,
forever apart yet cannot be separated.

It is not so noble intention.
Hands drenched with the blood of thousands,
stained with the screams of millions.
Pleas of mercy doesn't carry weight.

    The burning day will come.
    I will accept the judgement
    My sins, my responsibility.
But before I was taken away I will protect and nurture,
The precious buds of tomorrow's hope

Heart encased by cage of thorns,
giving place for butterflies to rest.
    Sometimes I wonder,
how is it like to be human.

    Looking through blurry eyes,
the artificial light of the world that dazzles the unwary.
Its siren's song provides false promises that must be paid with the soul.

At midnight I lay a weary head on a bed of cloud,
dreaming about winged unicorns and fiery swords.
    Tomorrow is yet another day.
On this illusion I shall find comfort,
until the time my wish for peace be granted.

Whoa, talent! Fantastic poetry - it was a very pleasant surprise to find it. I don't think Sherlock would write a 'stream of conciousness' poem but I'll give it some thought.

@ Night Baron - nailed the problem with him there. He's two halves at war with himself.

@archenemy -  Alrighty. What's her job so that she can do some out of London?

    Emotions - by Sherlock Holmes

    Emotions given heed
    In the name of humanity
    Driving the weak
    To the verge of insanity
    A constant need
    For deeds justifying
    Emotions. Useless.

    I’ll solve your case
    Be it murder or treason
    Just tell me the facts
    Give me logic and reason
And I’ll say it to your face
I know I’m the worst, with
    Emotions. Useless

But let your flame ignite my soul
Let your heart run loose and fly
So that I can lose control of mine
    And show you my
    Emotions. Tender.

Absolutely not ^  I want this RP to work Smile  Well, this version of Sherlock does want to be god in Katrina's eyes at least. He's not going to get that applause and admiration from her though, I don't think. Benedict says Sherlock has a sex drive so I'm going with that.
