You can create some what-ifs then pitched them to all your RP sites, see what kind of fish bites.

One thing that come to my mind from our conversation, why Jim choose Sherlock to play with instead of big brother with whom he can play an increasingly deadly game with stakes that keeps climbing in value. What do you think about it?

I think Sherlock is more interesting to him. He has more emotion than mycroft, though he claims not to.

More vulnerable and easier to toy with, or because Jim doesn't want to directly engage someone who is essentially commanding an empire just like Jim himself and instead of offering instant gratification he play the long term game?

Jim likes to draw things out, so the long term is fine. I think it'd be a bit of both, more vulnerable and "funner", also Mycroft has the british nation.

Jim choose the small fry just like children burn ants. IMO, if he really is looking for challenge and kindred spirit 'on the side of the angels' then he couldn't pick a better target than Mycroft. Mycroft Holmes is such a vaguely defined character so far and he is perfectly placed in a role that demand flexibility and resourcefulness. I think Jim's real counterpart is Mycroft, who is such a sketchy character as best he could be developed into someone who walk between the divide of guile hero and a villain with good publicity.

I can't explain it all really. Moriarty, however set out they described him, is still a bit of a enigma to me.

If you are aiming to be as close as possible to BBC version. However, if we are talking about your character you would understand his core best, wouldn't you?

I am interested in doing a noncon Sheriarty type of thing with you. Shall we plot?

I have a skype but do not rp on it, nor tumblr. I do rp on email though. Also, my characterization of Jim would go after mycroft first I believe.
