John didn't move though, he was rather shocked for once, and then there was no way in hell he wanted to end things, not now, maybe not ever.
"I... am not married," he pointed out, reaching out his hand and cupping Jim's cheek, it was the first time he was truly seeing feelings in the other's face. Feelings for him.
"I am not taken, I am single," he added, trying to sound as reassuring as possible. "I would have never started... coming to you... if I had someone... I don't cheat..." he said matter-of-fact.
"That on my phone is my annoying flatmate, you see, he's very needy, we work together at times, and he's just... you know one of those brilliantly annoying types? He expects everyone to do what he wants, but he's also absolutely oblivious of his real needs..." he tried to explain, a soft smile on his lips as he spoke about Sherlock. "And I've kind of made it my mission to take care of him, we're good friends..."
