Ok, so The Spider and I have managed to work out a plot for a roleplay idea that I had after listening to the song.
Superlock:
Instead of Jim being a demon, we decided it would be clever of him to be a shifter. So since only a silver bullet can kill a shifter, when he 'shot himself' it didn't actually kill him. It just bought him more time to mess with Sherlock in the future.
And he did know one thing that Sherlock was sure that Jim wasn't aware of.
The shifter knew that Molly mattered the most to him, and he was just going to carry out Sherlock's pain further in the future.
On a case, Sherlock and John track down the shifter, but one they thought they had him, all they found was a nearly liquified pile of shredded skin.
Meanwhile, Castiel ended up in a fight with the shifter. See, before the shifter became tom, he managed to take the form of an angel, which drew Cas's attention. Cas was injured, sure, and while he was unconscious, people brought him back to the hospital. Of course as soon as he woke up he teleported out because humans can't really heal an angel now, can they?
After realizing that the shifter really was what it was, he needed to track it down again. But this time he knew it would be harder to find, and if he did find it, he wouldn't be able to be positive about what it was until he got the perfect chance.
Even though Cas is socially awkward, he had enough sense not to go around cutting everyone with a silver blade.
So in order to throw everyone off, the shifter takes the form of Tom, and continues the relationship with Molly.
There area few minor details to work out, like how Cas would run into Sherlock and John. Surely he'd figure out that they were after the same thing, and try to help them out, as awkward as he is.
Cas would also meet Molly, and develop a little crush on her, and ultimately become very protective of her when they found out that Tom was the shifter.
